Although we work on many different types of dogs and dog body types, Stumpers N Rumpers is focused on the dwarf breeds and dwarf breed mixes as they have very unique physical needs and aliments.
Yes. If your dog is under the care of a doctor/vet for health/physical issues, it is advisable to receive written recommendation for massage prior to any session. There are also general contraindications that are not suitable for massage work such inflammations, joint sprains or severe pain. However, energy work or light touch modalities can still be applied in most cases.
Because the benefits of massage and bodywork treatments are vast and each session can be tailored to your animal’s needs, we recommend weekly sessions if your dog is experiencing acute symptoms. For general maintenance, we recommend monthly or bi-monthly sessions.
Because our services include an educational portion, we highly suggest not to leave your pets so that you could learn how to do some of these techniques at home.
We understand that life can throw you a curve ball here and there, so we ask that you provide us with at least a 24 hours’ notice of cancellation and/or rescheduling. No cancellation refunds are given—only credit will be applied to future services. No shows for day of service without a notice of cancellation will be charged the full fee.
Proof of insurance is available upon request. We are liable only for claims arising from the negligence or willful misconduct of our staff. Due to the unpredictability of animals, we cannot accept responsibility for unusual mishaps regarding the behavior of your pet.

Pet Tech is the first international training center for pet first aid, CPR and care. The Pet Tech mission is to “improve the quality of pets’ lives, one pet owner at a time.”™ The Pet Tech Pet CPR/First Aid curriculum is the most highly regarded course in the industry. It is recommended by these professional industry organizations: Pet Sitters International (PSI), International Association of Canine Professional, PetSit USA, Six Figure Pet Sitting Academy, National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, Association of Pet Dog Trainers, United Animal Nations, and more!
Taking an online pet first aid course is still better than nothing. However, the Pet Tech curriculum emphasizes practicing the skill sets over and over so that they are naturally recalled and correctly administered with an emergency situation occurs. Taking an online pet first aid course will not adequately prepare you to handle an emergency case.
To ensure that participants are kept up-to-date with the CPR and first aid training for pets, we require that re-training every 2 years.
No. Humans and animals have different anatomies. Using human first aid techniques on animals could may exacerbate the medical problem.
YES! We are not a substitute for your veterinary care.

For the Pet First Aid/CPR classes, we use stuffed dog or cat models. While you can certainly practice some of the first aid techniques (such as muzzling) on your pet, some actions (such as CPR) should never be performed on a healthy animal.

Other workshops such as canine massage, will have opportunities to practice on real dogs. Please check the class descriptions.
